  • Photograph the entire plate. Take the photo straight-on. The less of an angle there is, the better.
  • Photograph up-close details of the images, lettering and scrolls.
  • Take measurements of the entire plate, scroll width and height, distance between the screws on the scroll and the height of the lettering. See the image below.
